This privacy policy explains how UF101.ie ("we", "us", "our") collects, stores, and uses your personal data when you create an account or use this app. UF101.ie is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at info@uf101.ie.

1. What data we collect

When you create an account and use UF101.ie, we collect the following information:

• Name - provided when you sign up, used to pre-fill the UF101 form.
• Email address - used to identify your account and for account recovery.
• Drone and pilot details - saved so you can reuse them across submissions.
• Submission history - a log of UF101 applications you have generated in the app, including zone, date, and aircraft details.

We do not collect payment information, precise location data beyond what you enter for a flight application, or any data from your device without your knowledge.

2. How your data is stored

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), operated by Google Ireland Limited. Firebase stores data on servers within the European Union and complies with GDPR. Data is protected by Google's enterprise-grade security infrastructure. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement that includes Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, covering any transfers of data outside the EEA.

Locally, some data (operator profile, saved drones and pilots) is also stored in your browser's localStorage for offline access.

3. How we use your data and our legal basis

• Providing the service - to pre-fill the UF101 form with your saved operator, pilot, and drone details; to track usage limits; and to allow you to review your submission history. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Marketing emails - if you have given optional consent at sign-up or via the Email updates toggle in your profile, to keep you informed about new features, updates, tools, or to occasionally ask for your feedback on the app. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

We do not use your data for advertising, third-party profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app and, where consented, sending email updates.

3a. Marketing emails

We will only send you email updates if you have explicitly given consent — either at sign-up or via the Email updates toggle in your account profile. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

You can withdraw this consent at any time by toggling off Email updates in your profile, by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing info@uf101.ie with the subject "Unsubscribe". Withdrawing consent does not affect your account or the lawfulness of any emails sent before withdrawal.

We record the date and time your consent was given and store it securely on Firebase.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only exception is Google Firebase, which processes data on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement that complies with GDPR.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Access - request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification - request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure - request deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
• Restriction - request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
• Portability - request a copy of the data you have provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object - object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as a legal basis.
• Withdraw consent - withdraw your marketing consent at any time by toggling off Email updates in your account profile, by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing info@uf101.ie with the subject "Unsubscribe". Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@uf101.ie. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), Ireland's supervisory authority for data protection, if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully. The DPC can be contacted at www.dataprotection.ie.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will permanently remove your account data from our systems within 30 days.

7. Cookies

This app does not use tracking cookies. Firebase Authentication may use browser storage (IndexedDB or localStorage) to maintain your login session.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to signed-in users via an in-app notice.
